We expected about a 6-hour trip. It ended up being closer to 14 hours roundtrip, but it was worth every minute. Jer belongs on that mountain.

LOLO — Jeremiah Dow “Jer” Nogle died March 26.

He was born Sept. 18, 1974, in Augsburg, Germany, to Arnold and Marilyn (Dauter-man) Nogle. He was educated in Missoula, graduating from Big Sky High School in 1992. He attended the University of Montana.

Jer worked in welding, road construction, pipefitting and furniture moving. At the time of his death, he was a fabricator for United Rentals Highway Technologies. He belonged to the pipefitters’ and laborers’ unions.

Jer enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking, and was a Green Bay Packers and Montana Grizzlies fan. He rode his mountain bike in Moab, Utah, every spring. He loved working with children, and was active in the Toys for Tots program. He prided himself on being a thespian, and continued judging high school thespian events after graduation. He was a very outgoing person and had many friends, young and old.

Jer was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Survivors include his parents, Arnie and Marilyn Nogle, Lolo; brother, Joseph Nogle, Lolo; sister-in-law, Wendy Nogle, Lolo; niece and nephew, Dillon and Casadee Nogle, Lolo; aunts, Marilyn Mack and family, Denver, Kathi (Pat) Moriarty, Missoula, Donna Boyer, Missoula; cousins, Doug Blake and family, Green Bay, Wis., Stephanie Dunwell and family, Missoula; and his fiancée, Crystal Hoffman, Missoula.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in SHEC Community Center, 1919 North Ave. West, Missoula.
